“There is no rich or poor. There is only the idea of having less in life.” If you look at the community today, everyone is busy. Everyone nowadays struggle each day to feed, to cloth, to find shelter, to get education, to ride a fancy car, to get the latest gadgets. The world seems like to be so scarce of food, clothing, and houses, medium of transportation or gadgets. Each person in our community, from the moment of birth, up to the moment they grow up to play a bigger role in the community, is trained to live into one single idea – the idea of having less in life. Of course, everyone does not want to have less in life; otherwise, he would be living all the days of his lifetime into a struggle for survival. No one enjoys life with having less.
When one’s stomach is empty, the world will surely go into chaos. Food is probably the most basic but essential commodity in life where a lot of people are unfortunately deprived of.  Every family nowadays or many if not all, are always afraid of what they will feed the family for tomorrow. And so each member of the family needs to sacrifice. One needs to leave and earn a living. One needs to go abroad to earn a living. One needs to go to a call-center and be assigned in a grave-yard shift to earn a good wage. One needs to become a head or a manager of a good company to get a higher pay. One needs to become a politician, gain more control, or earn some SOPs and kickbacks, to be able to have more money. One needs to get a stable job in short all for the ends of money, to be able to buy food for the family (or buy other things other than the usual needs of the family). This has been the customary life style and the kind of education the children are taught for hundreds of years - work work work. Everyone has turned into slaves. But the reality is that food can simply be made in one’s own backyard to save the family for each day’s meal.
There is no such thing as food scarcity. Our community can produce enough amount of food. There is only an idea of consumerism where people, instead of choosing a direct-harvest vegetable from the backyard gardens, choose to eat noodles, hotdogs, hamburgers and many other processed foods in the markets. According to many surveys, millions of people die each day because of hunger; but why is it that millions of tons of food are thrown away each year due to food spoilage.
One of the goals of “ONE COMMUNITY Project” is to educate families on how to become self-sufficient in the community thru reorientation programs directed thru seminars and trainings thereby explaining and exemplifying how a family can attain self-sufficiency in terms of food. This goal cannot be achieved by individual efforts of each family as one cannot produce every farm harvest needed to support the year-round health requirement in order to still achieve wellness in ones living. In addition to this goal and objective, ONE COMMUNITY Project aims to conduct community-based outreach programs to share latest advancements in technology that can be used to attain self-sufficiency in each family in the community thru partnership with the kind private sectors who share the same dreams for the community.
This goal cannot be achieved by introducing more work for the people. The idea of introducing more labor opportunity to the society is equivalent to that people need to earn more in order to live. The idea is to infiltrate the minds of the people and introduce more ideas on how to produce food in order to make each family and thus the whole community a self-sufficient without money as determinate sign of having more or less in life.
The power of technology nowadays cannot be fathomed. There are a lot of innovations today such as machines that can help farmers in the food production. There are also a lot of discoveries on renewable sources of energy which will lessen, if not totally removed, the use of petroleum oil which causes a lot of harm to our environment. These technologies and recent discoveries in science can all be used in order to abolish the scarcity that brought people fears of having less in life thereby causing them to undergo into prodigious efforts of acquisition of private properties.
In conclusion, the society which we all desire – where people are all equal and does not fear of having less in life, where people bow to the existence of all other living including the environment, where people respect each other despite differences, and where people focus not on acquisition of private properties but on pursuing things which uplifts all the status of mankind from the aspects of physical existence unto the spiritual bounds, is achievable with all of us united as one – again.
